Imagined Landscapes

“Architecture cannot divorce itself from drawing, no matter how impressive the technology gets. Drawings are part of the thought process of architectural design. Drawings express the interaction of our mind, eyes, and hands. This last statement is absolutely crucial to the difference between those who draw to conceptualize architecture and those who use the computer.” – Michael Graves
Based on Graves’ personal paintings and the work of watercolorist Michael McCann, “Imagined Landscapes” offers the first chance to add VR watercolors to an architectural project, turning a conceptual resort into an interactive wonderland for curious visitors. It is art as a way of exploring ideas and expressing the vision that drives a never-realized design.
This project is the never realized “Veneguera” of Michael Graves. In his words, “These are my memories of things seen and reinventions of things seen and understood.”
Utilizing the amazing technology of Leap Motion, the user can experience a real time watercolor world and paint without the need for controllers.
